ISFA aims to strengthen ties between Israel and Suriname by way of the two populations. Both ethnically and culturally diverse, there’s much that we can learn from one another.

The Tzedek VeShalom Sephardic Synagogue, Paramaribo
Jodensavanne (Jewish Savannah) is the name of the area where Portuguese Jews were settled in Suriname in the 17th to 19th centuries.
It is located on the right bank of the Suriname River about 50 km south of Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname, in what is today the district of Para on the Cassipora creek, a tributary of the Suriname River.
Jodensavanne has not been inhabited since 1832.
